Original concept design
Davette spent her childhood being fit with frames that were always to big or she was put in kids frames because she had a petite face and PD. After getting her first job in the eyewear industry 35 years ago she realized nothing had changed so she decided she would make that change and Davettes Lunettes was born 13 years ago.

Mock Up & Design

Selecting The Cotton Acetate

Selecting the colors is key to every shape. I only use cotton acetate. Its the original acetate dating back to the 50's. made of 80% cotton , 10% resin 10% wood. Each plank is handmade in small quanities.

Tumble & Polish

The technigues we use date by to the 50's. Each peice is made by hand and when is't time to decide Matt finish or Polished finish. We either tumble for 2 weeks in walnut husk and rubber balls, to get the Matt look or we use our polishing wheels to give it a glossy look. Much like you would do when tumbling and polishing a raw gemstone or rocks.
